Headed by Executive Vice President, Matt Forde, BBC Worldwide Productions works with BBC producers, the UK’s independent production community, and talent on both sides of the pond to develop and produce formats of BBC and UK programs, as well as original programming.
The most recognized ongoing success for BBC Worldwide Productions is Dancing with the Stars, which aired its 25th season in the fall of 2017, and continues to dominate ratings. The show has won numerous awards including 17 Emmy® Awards, an NAACP Image Award, a GLAAD Media Award, two People’s Choice Awards and two Critics’ Choice Awards. The series has also spawned sold-out nationwide tours and popular themed cruises.
BBC Worldwide Productions is responsible for Golden Globe® and Emmy® nominated limited series The Night Of, starring Riz Ahmed and John Turturro, and the critically acclaimed dark comedy Getting On, starring Emmy® nominated Laurie Metcalf for “Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series” and Niecy Nash for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series,” both for HBO. Further expanding the BBC’s highly successful global motoring brand, BBC Worldwide Productions reformatted and produced a successful five seasons of Top Gear USA for History, and launched a new version of the same format, Top Gear America, which recently aired on BBC AMERICA.
