BBC AMERICA’s Top Gear Adds An Extra Gear

New After Show to Premiere Following New Episodes Starting in May

New York – April 26, 2016 – BBC AMERICA’s Top Gear is back with a new season in May. Announced today, the world’s biggest car series will have a new after show, Extra Gear, presented by Top Gear host Rory Reid on BBC AMERICA.

Fans will be able to get closer to the Top Gear action than ever before with Extra Gear airing immediately following new episodes this season on BBC AMERICA. Filmed at the famous Top Gear studio, each week Extra Gear will bring fans exclusive new footage, interviews, specially recorded films and behind-the-scenes access to the hit series.

Rory Reid said: “Extra Gear is hugely exciting. The Top Gear fans are some of the keenest in the world and with this show I’m giving them a chance to really get a peek behind the curtain. I’m looking forward to showing them how the show is made, what the stars and celebrities are really like, who can really drive (and who can’t), what goes on behind the scenes and giving them a different perspective on some of the coolest cars on the planet.”

Sarah Barnett, President and General Manager of BBC AMERICA added: “After shows are a fantastic reward for passionate fans, and you don’t get more avid fans than the viewers of Top Gear. All the scoop and double the car fix on Top Gear Mondays on BBC AMERICA!”

Adam Waddell, Global Director of Top Gear at BBC Worldwide said: “For the first time ever we are able to bring our fans around the world more access to the world of Top Gear than they have ever had and realize a long-held ambition to offer more original content from this globally successful show.”

Extra Gear is co-commissioned by BBC Worldwide and BBC Three and distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide.
